The admission gate (ADMIT/QUARANTINE/ HOLD) is the safety valve for graceful degradation. Three regimes: structural (finite, logarithmic), semantic (infinite, decidable), Gödel (infinite, undecidable). The NaN event is the controlled explosion by Gödel.
