## Vulnerability Assessment and Attack Scenarios

## Executive Summary
This document analyzes potential attack vectors in the morphic topology system implementation guide and identifies critical vulnerabilities that must be addressed before deployment. The analysis covers equation derivation, morphic scalar implementation, neural coding, signal math, dynamic profile switching, safety valves, and SSD capabilities.

## Attack Vector Analysis
### Attack Vector 1: Malicious Equation Injection
**Vulnerability:** Equation extraction from academic papers does not validate source authenticity
**Impact:** Malicious equations could be injected into the equation library
**Risk Level:** CRITICAL
**Attack Scenario:**
1. Attacker submits malicious academic paper to arXiv
2. Paper contains crafted equations with hidden malicious behavior
3. Metaprobe extracts and validates equations (syntax/semantic validation passes)
4. Malicious equations integrated into equation library
5. Scalars use malicious equations, causing system compromise
**Attack Steps:**

**Mitigation Required:**
- Implement source authentication for academic papers
- Implement equation sandboxing with resource limits

### Attack Vector 2: PDF Extraction Vulnerabilities
**Vulnerability:** PDF text extraction tools may be vulnerable to malicious PDFs
**Impact:** Code execution via malicious PDF files
**Risk Level:** HIGH
**Attack Scenario:**
1. Attacker creates malicious PDF with embedded exploits
2. Metaprobe downloads and extracts text from malicious PDF
3. PDF extraction tool exploits vulnerability
4. Attacker gains code execution on system
**Attack Steps:**

### Attack Vector 3: Regular Expression DoS (ReDoS)
**Vulnerability:** Equation extraction uses regular expressions vulnerable to ReDoS
**Impact:** Denial of service via crafted equation patterns
**Risk Level:** MEDIUM
**Attack Scenario:**
1. Attacker submits paper with crafted equation patterns
2. Regular expression engine enters catastrophic backtracking
3. CPU exhaustion, system hangs
4. Denial of service

**Vulnerability:** Replicator topology lacks replication rate limits
**Impact:** Unbounded scalar replication, resource exhaustion

**Attack Scenario:**

2. Replication rate not limited
3. Scalars replicate exponentially
4. Resource exhaustion, system crash

**Vulnerability:** Path assignment algorithm can be manipulated
**Impact:** Scalars assigned to malicious paths, data leakage

2. Scalars assigned to sensitive paths (e.g., storage topology)
3. Scalars access sensitive data via path assignment
4. Data leakage

2. Additional NAND operations triggered
