# Universal Shortcut Center Manifold
## Purpose
Refine the equation forest around one shared center: every mathematical shortcut is an invariant-preserving compression from a high-cost derivation manifold into a lower-cost witness manifold.
This document promotes that idea into the FAMM/BJW/NUVMAP stack as a reusable resolver.
```text
→ cheaper witness
→ reconstruction / decision map
→ invariant receipt
→ bounded residual
```
## Center claim
A mathematical shortcut is a lawful projection from a high-cost derivation manifold into a lower-cost witness manifold, preserving the answer-relevant invariant.
Compressed:
```text
Shortcut = invariant-preserving compression
```
Project phrasing:
```text
All shortcuts are lawful residual-bounded invariant transports.
```
## Universal admissibility equation
For mathematical object/problem/theorem `X`, define:
```math
S_\star(X)
=
\operatorname*{argmin}_{(\pi,W,R,I,G)\in\mathcal A(X)}
\left[
K(W)+K(R)+K(G)
+\lambda d_I(I(X),I(R(\pi(X))))
+\mu\epsilon(X,\pi,R)
\right]
```
subject to:
```math
G(X)=1
```
```math
d_I(I(X),I(R(\pi(X))))\le \varepsilon_X
```
```math
K(R(\pi(X)))\ll K(X)
```
## Symbols
| Symbol | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `X` | original hard problem / full derivation manifold |
| `π` | shortcut projection: transform, quotient, reduction, theorem, identity |
| `W` | witness space / cheaper representation |
| `R` | reconstruction or decision map from witness back to target |
| `I` | invariant that must survive the shortcut |
| `G` | guard condition: analyticity, compactness, prime modulus, convexity, etc. |
| `K` | cost: computation, proof length, cognitive load, symbolic complexity |
| `d_I` | distance between original invariant and shortcut invariant |
| `ε` | residual error / admissibility scar |
| `λ, μ` | penalties for invariant drift and residual cost |
## Exact versus approximate shortcuts
Exact shortcut:
```math
\epsilon_X=0
```
Approximate shortcut:
```math
\epsilon_X>0
```
but bounded by the admissibility condition.
## Manifold packet form
Each shortcut/theorem becomes a packet:
```math
\Gamma_i
=
(X_i,\pi_i,W_i,R_i,I_i,G_i,K_i,\epsilon_i)
```
The universal resolver is:
```math
\Gamma_\star
=
\operatorname*{argmin}_{\Gamma_i}
\left[
K_i+\\lambda\Delta I_i+\mu\epsilon_i
\right]
```
where:
```math
\Delta I_i
=
d_I(I_i(X_i),I_i(R_i(\pi_i(X_i))))
```
Compressed:
```text
Γ_star = minimum-cost packet whose invariant drift is admissible
```
## One-object collapse
If each shortcut is a manifold:
```math
M_i
=
\{(X_i,\pi_i,W_i,R_i,I_i):I_i(X_i)=I_i(R_i(\pi_i(X_i)))\}
```
then the center object is:
```math
\mathcal C
=
\operatorname*{colim}_{i\in I} M_i
```
Interpretation:
```text
C is not a point.
C is the universal admissible compression manifold.
```
## Operator modes
Shortcut manifolds link when they share structural behavior:
| Mode | Function |
|---|---|
| Invariant extraction | replace object with conserved witness |
| Transform/domain change | move problem into easier coordinates |
| Linearization | replace curved/nonlinear object with tangent/algebraic model |
| Quotient/reduction | collapse irrelevant degrees of freedom |
| Spectral decomposition | split object into modes/eigencomponents |
| Existence certificate | prove existence without constructing full object |
| Duality | solve mirror problem instead |
| Lifting/continuation | extend local truth to larger domain |
| Asymptotic compression | replace exact behavior with dominant structure |
| Universal property | define by relation instead of construction |
## Stack placement
```text
UNIVERSAL_SHORTCUT_CENTER_MANIFOLD
→ Builder-Judge-Warden Geodesic Cleanup
→ NUVMAP Delta-DAG
→ FAMM Scar Ledger
→ Exact / statistical / invariant receipt
```
## Builder-Judge-Warden mapping
| Role | Action |
|---|---|
| Builder | proposes candidate projection `π`, witness `W`, and reconstruction/decision map `R` |
| Judge | verifies guard `G`, invariant preservation `I(X)≈I(R(π(X)))`, and receipt validity |
| Warden | blocks hidden guard failure, excessive residual, false equivalence, overcompression, and unsupported theorem strength |
## FAMM object
```math
\mathfrak C_{\mathrm{ShortcutCenter}}
=
\otimes
```

## Project sentence
The Universal Shortcut Center Manifold says every shortcut is a lawful residual-bounded invariant transport: Builder proposes a projection into cheaper witness geometry, Judge verifies the preserved invariant, Warden blocks hidden residual or guard failure, and the accepted packet becomes a NUVMAP/Delta-DAG receipt.
